Alert Communications have designed and developed the new website for the Department of Contracts, Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment.
The main aim of the ‘E-procurement Management System’ is to provide the Department of Contracts (Malta) with a fully integrated on-line procurement service for the viewing and buying of tender documents online.
Alert Communications developed the new application, which enables prospective bidders to view the tender which interests them, download it, pay for it, view its status, view any questions and answers related to it, and also read any clarifications or notifications.
The front-end of the system provides a user-friendly, efficient platform for Bidders from Malta and overseas to keep themselves updated about the issue of tenders which are of interest to them. Ease of use and navigation have always been part of Alert Communications’ area of expertise.
Automated notifications are sent to registered users whenever a new tender matching their criteria is added to the system. Prospective bidders can then view the tender information and download the necessary documentation.
The E-Procurement system also provides a mechanism for Procurers to interact with Bidders, in full compliance with the Government contracting regulations. The application guarantees transparency for the system’s users, providing a unified source of comprehensive information relating to all procurement activity of the Government.
This management system has resulted in reduced lead time to register and put in place the necessary legal and regulatory requirements of the tendering procedure. It has also reduced the effort required by Government departments and authorities when processing tender applications.

The content of the site can be easily managed by the staff at the Department of Contracts through the Alert Web Publisher. This powerful content management system was developed by Alert Communications and allows the site owners to change the page content, pictures and menus of the site in a simple, straightforward manner.
