Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar (FAA) is a pressure group committed to preserving Malta and Gozo’s urban and rural heritage, as well as health and quality of life.
As part of its drive to raise awareness on issues such as better preservation and use of heritage assets, land use, air quality, water conservation and improved public transport FAA has taken the message online, with a brand new website – www.faa.org.mt
The website was developed pro bono by Alert Communications (www.alert.com.mt) as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. “We are committed to helping a number of NGOs that deliver value to the community. FAA has definitely made a big impact on the environment, and we are delighted to help it continue its sterling work”, said Claudine Cassar, Managing Director of Alert.
The FAA website is powered by an advanced content management system - the Alert Web Publisher. This software makes it easy for FAA volunteers to update all the pages in the site, including news, press releases, events, photo galleries and even an environmental blog.
Speaking at the launch of the website, Astrid Vella said – “Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar is much indebted to Alert Communications for the excellent work involved in creating the NGO’s new website. Besides top-class design and IT skills, such work requires a plethora of talents in dealing with clients who are not IT conversant, and translating their wishes into cyber-realities. This takes a great deal of patience as it obviously demands many revisions until the final product exactly reflects the client’s image and message. We are also delighted that for the first time we have a website set-up that allows relatively untrained volunteers to post items online without having to depend on trained personnel.
Significantly, even though Alert offered to undertake this job free of charge, it gave us as much attention as its large corporate clients, a fact which speaks volumes for Alert’s commitment to consistently high standards of service.”
All those who are interested in finding out what FAA are up to can now visit their site to become a member, make a donation, and submit their views in a secure and intuitive manner.
